Opportunities

There are many ways in which you can help us deliver an exciting programme of activities for young people aged 6 to 14.

Leaders

Help to deliver a weekly programme of activities either with Beavers, Cubs or Scouts. Each Section has one Leader in charge and several other adults to assist them. Although the programme is delivered every week, not all Leaders are available each week. All Leaders need a  CRB check. Not all roles require you to be a member of the Scout Association or wear uniform.  Where required, training is given.

Active Support Unit

Provides a range of support for the Group – from helping at Camp to maintaining the HQ. Some examples inlcude:

  • Camp catering teams
  • badge assessor
  • helping out pitching Cub tents
  • maintaining the HQ
  • helping with activities at camp

Not always directly working with the young people, these are still vital roles to the running of the Group.

Executive Committee

The Exec are the Trustees of the Group, ensuring we’re spending your money correctly and looking to the future. There are a few roles currently vacant within the Exec.

  • Secretary - writes the minutes and actions  of the tri-annual meeting
  • Christmas Post Organiser – organises and allocates the Christmas post routes
  • Coffee Morning Organiser – co-ordinates volunteers for the annual coffee morning
  • Beaver/Cub/Scout parent representatives – ensures that the thoughts and wishes of parents are considered
