Skills
for
life
4th Morpeth is a very popular Scout Group with over 250 young members in 1 Squirrel Drey, 3 Beaver Colonies, 4 Cub Packs and 4 Scout Troops in Morpeth and Pegswood.
In 2019, our Scout Troop in Pegswood was formed as Sea Scouts which has a nautical theme and more water-based activities.
In May 2022, we stared a Squirrel Drey for 4 to 6 year olds at our HQ. This has proved to be very popular and we are full with a long waiting list. We need more volunteers to start a second Drey. If you'd be interested in joining the existing team of over 30 adult volunteers at 4th Morpeth, please contact us.
Beavers are boys and girls from age 6 to 8 years old. They will make new friends and try new indoor and outdoor activities.
Cubs are boys and girls from age 8 to 10½ years old. They will learn practical skills while having adventures with friends.
Scouts are boys and girls from age 10½ to 14 years old. They will enjoy activities to build confidence, resilience and a sense of adventure.
There is a another Scout Group in Morpeth called 6th Morpeth who meet at the Methodist Church Hall. They have Beavers on a Tuesday and Thursday as well as Cubs and Scouts on both Wednesdays and Thursdays. We can put you in touch with them.
There are further Scout Groups in Alnwick, Ashington, Ellington, Felton, Guidepost, Ponteland, Stakeford and Stannington.

Each week, we help our Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts develop the skills to succeed in life. But this can only happen thanks to our brilliant volunteers.
Volunteering is easier than you think. Whether you can spare an hour a month or a day a year, we have opportunities both behind the scenes and directly supporting young people. With full support and training, you can volunteer on a flexible basis.
Not only is it incredibly rewarding and great fun, you’ll learn some brilliant skills transferable to the workplace and further education.
We welcome volunteers from every community and background. You don’t need to have been a Scout. You just need to believe in a more positive future and the difference we can make together.
Volunteer today and help us prepare more young people with Skills for Life.
